But then someone said, “What about something that rises back up no matter what?” Another player added, “Like when we lose but come back stronger the next game.” That’s when the word landed in the middle of the circle like it had been waiting.
Phoenix.

They talked about what it meant. A phoenix doesn’t quit. It gets knocked down, burned out, and still comes back brighter. That sounded exactly like a group of girls who had learned to chase every ball, defend together, and keep smiling even when they were tired.
When the logo was revealed, it wasn’t just a picture — it felt like them.

The wide, powerful wings represented teamwork — everyone playing their part.
The flames in red, orange, and gold? That was their energy, their speed, their fire on the field.
Even the talons gripping down over the name felt right — strong, determined, ready to compete.
They weren’t just “the new Akron girls team” anymore.
They had an identity.
When they finalized selection of the logo, something changed. They stood a little taller. Cheered a little louder. Played a little braver.
